Fourth-quarter defense helps Meadowdale beat Mariner

EVERETT – Meadowdale turned up the defensive pressure in the fourth quarter and out-scored Mariner by 12 points en route to a 51-45 Western Conference South Division victory Friday.

Mariner committed 17 turnovers.

Meadowdale’s Taylor Marsh led all scorers with 16 points.

Everett 47, Shorewood 45: Everett came from behind to win at the buzzer in a Wesco South game. With the scored tied at 45, Everett inbounded the ball with seven seconds to go. Junior forward Adam Moore, who led all scorers with 20 points, got the ball in paint, turned and scored at the buzzer to win the game. Senior forward Trent Kristjansen scored 13 points for Shorewood. The loss for Shorewood gives Mariner a district berth.
