YAKIMA — Thursday’s 1A girls basketball state quarterfinal game was a disaster for King’s.
Freeman dominated the Knights inside en route to a 45-19 victory at the SunDome.
King’s plays Granger at 10:30 a.m. today in a loser-out consolation game.
Freeman outscored King’s 20-4 in the paint and outrebounded the Knights 43-29, collecting 23 offensive rebounds in the process.
King’s committed 23 turnovers while Freeman came up with 13 steals. Freeman scored 23 points off turnovers to four by King’s.
Joclyn Kirton led the Knights with 11 points and shot 5-for-10 from the field. The rest of her team was 4-for-19 (21 percent).
