Freshman helps Panthers dominate three-team meet

EDMONDS – Another meet, another dominating performance by the Snohomish Panthers girls track team.

Led by two wins by freshman Stephanie Cummings, the Panthers took first place in 12 of 18 events, defeating Cascade and Edmonds-Woodway Thursday in a non-conference meet at Edmonds Stadium.

Snohomish finished with 102 points, Cascade 48 and Edmonds-Woodway 38.

Cummings won the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Snohomish’s Kara Sporrong took first in the 1,600 and second in the 800 behind teammate Sahar Bala.

Edmonds-Woodway’s Jennifer Quick won the 100 hurdles and the pole vault.

Everett 75, Stanwood 65, Mountlake Terrace 45: At Everett, Annie Sittauer won the 100-meter dash and ran on all three winning relay teams to lead the Seagulls, who took home seven first-place finishes, to the non-league win.

Rachel Bennett won the shot put and discus for Meadowdale.
