BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Hawks broke a tie with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the Everett AquaSox 8-6 on Friday night at Memorial Stadium, snapping Everett’s three-game winning streak.
With two outs and nobody on base in the bottom of the eighth, Everett first baseman Ryan Uhl’s fielding error extended the inning for Boise (8-15), which promptly took advantage.
Eric Toole and Wilkyns Jimenez scored on a two-run double by Marcos Derkes to put the Hawks ahead.
Jordan Cowan and Uhl each had two-run doubles in the game for the AquaSox (14-9), and Corey Simpson went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly.
Simpson is now 8-for-14 with eight RBI in his last four games.
Dylan Silva fell to 0-2 with the loss in relief of Everett starter Jose Santiago.
