Five prep sports events to keep an eye on this week:
Boys swimming: Jackson vs. Shorewood, 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at WEST Coast Aquatics (Mill Creek). Two of the area’s top programs square off in a Wesco South showdown of unbeatens. Jackson is led by junior standout Justin Limberg, who earned a pair of top-10 individual finishes at each of the past two Class 4A state meets.
Boys basketball: Arlington at Edmonds-Woodway, 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. This Wesco 3A clash features two teams that figure to be in the mix for state regional berths come February. Arlington senior Anthony Whitis and Edmonds-Woodway junior Mutdung Bol both average nearly 20 points per game.
Girls basketball: Arlington at Archbishop Murphy, 7:15 p.m. Friday. This conference showdown features the only two remaining unbeatens in Wesco 3A play. Both teams also have key matchups earlier in the week, with Archbishop Murphy visiting Snohomish on Tuesday and Arlington hosting Edmonds-Woodway on Thursday.
Boys wrestling: Viking Invite, 9 a.m. Saturday at Cavelero Mid High School (Lake Stevens). Among the slew of powerhouse programs attending this talent-loaded tournament are defending 4A state champion South Kitsap, defending 3A state champion Mount Spokane and defending 2A state champion White River.
Boys wrestling: MP Premier Tournament, 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Marysville Pilchuck H.S. Wesco 3A teams Edmonds-Woodway, Marysville Pilchuck and Stanwood headline the local programs in this tournament. All three teams are unbeaten in dual meets.
