NOME, Alaska — Iditarod mushers are starting to arrive in Nome by the droves.
Lance Mackey completed a three-peat Wednesday, winning his third straight Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.
It was no contest as Alaska’s Mackey won the championship by 7 1/2 hours over Sebastian Schnuelle of Canada. John Baker of Alaska was third, crossing under the burled arch in Nome on Wednesday night.
More mushers arrived Thursday morning. They included fourth-placed Mitch Seavey and fifth-placed Cim Smyth of Alaska.
