Inactives report: Lane out, Bennett active for Seahawks

The Giants are hurting at receiver with their top three wideouts all out injured.

Here are the inactives for Sunday’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants at MetLife Stadium:

SEATTLE (3-2)

Inactive: CB Jeremy Lane, S Tedric Thompson, G Jordan Roos, G Luke Joeckel, T Isaiah Battle, DT Garrison Smith.

Notes: Seattle plays without starters Lane (groin) and Joeckel (knee), who were already ruled out, as well as Pro Bowl defensive end Cliff Avril (neck), who was placed on injured reserve this week. That means continued heavier workloads for rookie cornerback Shaquill Griffin and defensive end Frank Clark, while Mark Glowinski rather than rookie Ethan Pocic was listed as starting in Joeckel’s place at left guard. All of Seattle’s players who were listed as questionable — running back C.J. Prosise (ankle), defensive end Michael Bennett (heel), defensive end Marcus Smith (ankle) and defensive tackle Nazair Jones (knee) — are active. Seattle has yet to sign a replacement to take Avril’s spot on the roster, which is why the Seahawks have just six inactives.

NEW YORK (1-5)

Inactive: WR Sterling Shepard, C Weston Richburg, DE Olivier Vernon, RB Paul Perkins, QB Davis Webb, LB Jonathan Casillas, LB Calvin Munson.

Notes: The Giants are hurting big-time at receiver as New York’s top two receivers, Odell Beckham (ankle) and Brandon Marshall (ankle), are on injured reserve, while No. 3 option Shepard (ankle) sits this week after being listed as questionable. Other starters out because of injury are Richburg (concussion), Vernon (ankle), Perkins (ribs) and Casillas (neck), while Munson (quadriceps) is also out injured. Starting right guard D.J. Fluker (knee), a late addition to the injury report, is active. Beckham, Marshall, Shepard, Richburg, Vernon, Perkins and Casillas were all out last week when the Giants earned their first victory of the season at Denver.
