First off, merry Christmas everyone! I hope the holidays treat everyone well.
The Seahawks are hoping they don’t get a lump of coal in their stockings in the form of a Doug Baldwin injury. Baldwin is in the midst of a historic stretch, with the receiver having caught 10 touchdowns the past four games, something only accomplished previously by Jerry Rice. However, Baldwin was a surprise name on Seattle’s practice report Wednesday, as he was held out because of a hamstring injury. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Thursday that a decision on whether Baldwin plays this week will go all the way down to game time Sunday against St. Louis. If Baldwin can’t go, that’s a significant blow to the Seahawks’ offense.
In other injury news, Carroll said tackle Russell Okung (calf) is questionable at this point, while safety Kam Chancellor (tailbone) didn’t make any more progress Thursday after making good progress Wednesday. Cornerback DeShawn Shead (ankle), however, is fully recovered and will be ready to go Sunday.
