Jackson checks Cascade – with one exception

MILL CREEK – The Jackson boys basketball team held district rival Cascade in check – except for one player – to take a 52-42 non-league victory Tuesday at the Jackson gym.

Jackson mounted a 10-point halftime lead to outlast the Bruins and Dirk Snel’s game-high 30 points.

“One guy for them had a great game and we had pretty balanced scoring,” Jackson coach Steve Johnson said.

Jackson had eight of 13 players score in the game. Brian Rucker and Chris Reimer each had 12 points to lead the Timberwolves.

“It was a little more to it than just a regular non-league game. It is a game that should be played every year,” Johnson said of playing Cascade.
