It seems as if Jordan Hall, a Surrey, B.C., native, won’t be coming to Everett any time soon, except to play against the Stealth.
The third-year pro and former first overall draft pick in 2007 had his contract dispute rectified, thus placing him into Friday’s Orlando Titans dispersal draft. Also denied of free agency were goaltender Matt Vinc and 2010 National Lacrosse League MVP Casey Powell. Former Titans Pat Maddalena and Pat Merrill were granted unrestricted free agency earlier this week, according to reports by NLLInsider.com.
The order for Friday’s 10 a.m. (PST) dispersal draft is expected to go like this:
1. Colorado Mammoth
2. Boston Blazers
3. Rochester Knighthawks
4. Minnesota Swarm
5. Philadelphia Wings
6. Buffalo Bandits
7. Edmonton Rush
8. Calgary Roughnecks
9. Toronto Rock
10. Washington Stealth
It would be safe to bet that Vinc, Powell and Hall are likely to go 1-2-3 in the dispersal draft.
Here’s an article from NLLInsider.com that talks about the upcoming draft and how Calgary owner, president and general manager Brad Banister feels that, in a way, losing Orlando for the year strengthens the league.
