Kings upsets No. 2 Granger

YAKIMA — Karl Clocksin scored a game-high 20 points to lead sixth-ranked King’s over No. 2 Granger 68-61 in a Class 1A boys state tournament quarterfinal game Thursday at the Yakima SunDome.

Daniel Cheledinas and Ryan Hoff each added 16 points for the Knights (21-6), who took a six-point lead at halftime and never let the Spartans get closer than five in the second half.

Brandon Oswalt led the Spartans (23-1) with 14 points and Mitchell Zapien, who leads the team with a 20-point average, added 12 before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

Clocksin grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and blocked three shots.

The Knights shot 49 percent (25-for-51) while Granger made just 37 percent (22-for-60).
