ROSTOCK, Germany — Ukraine’s Andreas Kotelnik kept his WBA junior welterweight title Saturday with a split decision over Marcos Rene Maidana for the Argentine’s first loss.
Kotelnik improved his record to 31-2-1, with 13 KOs.
Two judges favored Kotelnik 115-114 and 115-113 while the third scored it for Maidana 115-113.
The loss brings Maidana’s record to 25-1, with 24 KOs.
