Lakewood’s Sears burns Sultan

SULTAN – Brad Sears rushed for 170 yards and a pair of first-half touchdowns to lead Lakewood to a Cascade Conference victory over Sultan Friday night.

Five turnovers, including four interceptions, doomed the Turks who took a 8-0 lead on Josh Mann’s 13-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

“Turnovers, that’s the bottom line,” Sultan coach Jim MacDicken said. “They’re a good solid team, big and physical, and Sears is a heck of a running back.”
