DODGE CITY, Kansas — Diondre Borel threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Pouncey with 10 seconds remaining in the game, and the Washington Wolfpack earned their second victory of the season with a 47-46 victory over the Southwest Kansas Storm on Saturday in Arena Football League action.
Kicker Melissa Strother’s successful extra point secured Washington’s first road victory of the season as the Wolfpack improved to 2-6.
Borel, a former Utah State University quarterback who joined the Wolfpack last week, threw five touchdown passes, including the game winner in a back-and-forth contest. Borel also added a 12-yard rushing TD.
Pouncey and Xzavier Crawford each caught two touchdown passes for Washington, while Crawford also returned a kickoff 58 yards for a score, which kept the Wolfpack in the game in the fourth quarter.
Washington’s regular season concludes next Saturday with a home game against the Wichita Regulators. The game begins at 3 p.m. at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett.
