ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic’s flight from Detroit to Orlando was diverted late Monday because of a mechanical problem.
Team spokesman Joel Glass said the plane landed in Cincinnati as a precaution. The Magic were trying to return home after a 100-93 loss to the Detroit Pistons that set them back 2-0 in the second-round NBA playoff series.
No one was injured, the plane was serviced and the team spent the night in Cincinnati. The coaches and players were scheduled to fly home Tuesday morning.
