How can I emphasize something very small, while keeping the context of the photograph by including the normal sized people in the background? That is the question I asked myself before making the photograph. A wide angle lens let the tiny hand-held magnifying glass be big enough to see, but even with the lens effect the the heads are still very large compared to the magnifying glass, so the photograph still needs the men to be looking so closely at the magnifying glass and the piece of rotting wood.
