Mariner girls basketball posts historic win over Kamiak

EVERETT — The Mariner girls basketball team defeated Kamiak 71-68 Friday night in a Wesco 4A game, and Mariner coach Corey Gibb said it was a noteworthy achievement for the Marauders.

“According to longtime teachers and a former Mariner girls basketball coach still teaching at Mariner, (the win) on Friday night is thought to be the first-ever over Kamiak,” Gibb said.

Kamiak High School opened in 1993.
