MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Willie Kemp scored 14 points and keyed a first half Memphis rally, leading the No. 2 Tigers to an 82-67 victory over Tulsa on Wednesday night in their first game since their only loss.

Kemp was 5-of-10 from the field, including 4-for-7 outside the 3-point arc, as five Tigers (27-1, 13-0 Conference USA) scored in double figures. Doneal Mack and Shawn Taggart scored 12 points apiece, while Robert Dozier added 11 points and eight rebounds. Antonio Anderson finished with 10 points.

Ray Reese led the Golden Hurricane with 18 points and eight rebounds. Ben Uzoh finished with 17 points and Calvin Walls added 10.

The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for Tulsa.

No. 6 Kansas 75, Iowa State 64: At Ames, Iowa, Darrell Arthur had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Mario Chalmers and Brandon Rush each added 15 points for the Jayhawks.

Kansas (25-3, 10-3 Big 12) led by as much as 22 midway through the second half, but had to hold off the Cyclones (14-14, 4-9) down the stretch. Kansas let a 57-35 lead dwindle to 64-55 with 4:04 to go as Iowa State went on a 20-7 run.

The hole was too deep for the Cyclones. Chalmers hit a 3 that effectively killed Iowa State’s momentum, and Arthur added a layup to make it 69-57 with 2:08 left.

No. 11 Georgetown 64, St. John’s 52: At Washington, DaJuan Summers made five 3-pointers and scored 21 points to lead the Hoyas to a win against the Storm.

Georgetown (23-4, 13-3 Big East) moved a half-game ahead of Louisville for sole possession of first place in the Big East. The lead may be short-lived: Louisville plays third-place Notre Dame tonight.

Georgetown is 15-0 at home and holds a five-game winning streak against St. John’s (10-17, 4-11).

Roy Hibbert scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half. Summers was 5-of-8 on 3-pointers, giving him a better mark from the outside than he had at point-blank range. He missed two dunks in the first half, including one on a fast break that bounced off the back of the rim into the courtside seats.

No. 7 Duke 71, Georgia Tech 58: At Durham, N.C., Gerald Henderson and DeMarcus Nelson both scored 15 points and the Blue Devils moved into a first-place tie in the Atlantic Coast Conference with North Carolina.

Kyle Singler added 13 points and Greg Paulus had 11 to help Duke (24-3, 11-2) improve to 15-0 at Cameron Indoor Stadium this season and win its second straight since a two-game losing streak on the road.

Matt Causey and Gani Lawal had 10 points each to lead the Yellow Jackets (11-15, 4-8), who lost their fifth straight and were denied their first victory at Cameron since 2004.

No. 16 Purdue 65, Minnesota 53: At West Lafayette, Ind., E’Twaun Moore scored 22 points and the Boilermakers grabbed a tie for the Big Ten lead. Robbie Hummel had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Keaton Grant added 11 points for Purdue (22-6, 13-2 Big Ten), which is tied with Wisconsin and Indiana for the conference lead.

Lawrence McKenzie led Minnesota (17-10, 7-8) with 13 points.

It was Purdue’s first game since a Feb. 19 loss at Indiana, a game that halted an 11-game winning streak. The victory over Minnesota gave the Boilermakers their best start since the 1997-98 season.
