Everett AquaSox fans got the first glimpse at T.J. Bohn’s potential three years ago during his first pro season.
This year, Bohn is flourishing.
The 6-foot-5 outfielder is batting .319 for the Class AA San Antonio Missions after an impressive stretch that won him the Texas League Player of the Week award.
Bohn batted .591 in a five-game series against Midland, finishing it with a 5-for-5 game that included a double, two RBI and three stolen bases.
Friday, he hit two home runs in a 13-3 victory over Springfield, and he raised his batting average to .481 in July. He leads the league with 112 hits and is among the leaders with 47 RBI and 24 steals.
The Missions entered Saturday 14-8 and tied for first place with Corpus Christi in the Texas League West Division.
Shortstop Adam Jones was hitting .329, catcher Rene Rivera .287 and infielder Jesse Hoorelbeke had hit safely in 23 of 28 games (with a .306 average in that span).
Right-handed pitcher Juan Sandoval was 6-5 with a 3.40 earned run average in 18 starts, left-hander Thomas Oldham 7-5, 3.50 and left-hander Jon Huber 6-5, 5.13.
