Everett to play host to NHL preseason game

The NHL is coming to Everett.

Everett Silvertips vice president and general manager Doug Soetaert announced Tuesday that the team will play host to an NHL preseason game between the Phoenix Coyotes and Tampa Bay Lightning on Sept. 22 at Comcast Arena.

Game time is 7:35 p.m.

The Phoenix Coyotes, coached by all-time NHL leading scorer Wayne Gretzky, feature former Silvertip and 2005-06 Western Hockey League Rookie of the Year Peter Mueller.

Tickets go on sale to the public Aug. 1. Silvertips season-ticket holders will have an opportunity to purchase tickets prior to the public sale, the team said in a press release.
