DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Four-time defending NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson has crashed during practice for the Daytona 500.
Johnson was among several cars caught up in the accident during Wednesday’s second practice at Daytona International Speedway. Mike Bliss seemed to trigger it when he lost control of his car coming out of a turn. Bliss turned sideways, then shot up the track and rammed into Joey Logano.
Kyle Busch was also involved.
Johnson and Logano switched to backup cars for Sunday’s season opener.
It was the latest accident in a Speedweeks that has been filled with them.
