PORTLAND, Ore. — Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy will miss four games because of a right hamstring injury, the team said Friday.

Roy re-injured the hamstring late in the first half of Portland’s 98-90 victory at Philadelphia on Wednesday night. He left the team for treatment in Seattle.

Jerryd Bayless started in place of Roy on Friday night against the Celtics, but he left in the third quarter with a sprained left ankle; the team said he would not return.

Roy, a two-time All-Star, was originally hurt during the third quarter of the Blazers’ 120-108 home win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Jan. 13.

In his fourth NBA season, Roy is averaging 23.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and five assists. The Blazers say he will be reevaluated next Thursday.

Roy is having his hamstring treated by doctors for the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks. Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen owns the Blazers and the Seahawks.

Cavaliers’ West breaks finger

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — The Cavaliers’ backcourt woes worsened when the team learned Delonte West broke his left ring finger in Thursday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers. West’s injury to his shooting hand came in his first start since replacing Williams, who could miss up to six weeks for the Eastern Conference leaders after spraining his left shoulder Tuesday. West will miss today’s game against Oklahoma City, but the Cavs do not yet know how long he will be sidelined. Doctors need a few days for the swelling to go down before they can complete their evaluation.

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Clippers have signed guard JamesOn Curry to a 10-day contract and waived injured forward Kareem Rush. Curry has been with the D-League’s Springfield Armor this season, averaging 16.1 points, 7.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds.
