DUVALL – Experience paid off for Post Falls.

The Idaho school, playing its ninth game of the season, defeated Cedarcrest 69-47 Saturday night in a girls basketball game.

The Trojans, who are 1-1 in the Inland Empire Conference, a league that includes schools from Coeur d’Alene and Moscow, improved their record to 7-2. Post Falls outscored Cedarcrest 23-9 in the first quarter.

“They [got] out in front early,” Cedarcrest girls coach Mark Hillestad said.

The reason, Hillestad suspected was turnovers and rebounds. Cedarcrest had 24 turnovers in the game and Post Falls had twice as many rebounds as Cedarcrest (1-2 overall).

Sophomore Sara Houser of Cedarcrest led all scorers with 14. Heather Arnone was Post Falls’ leading scorer with 13.
