Prep Athletes of the Week | Nov. 1-7

Jacob Eason

Lake Stevens | Football

Eason, a senior, completed 23 of 35 passes for 287 yards and five touchdowns in the Vikings’ 61-10 victory over Tahoma in the 4A quad-district playoffs. Three of Eason’s touchdowns went to senior tight end Riley Krenz. The Vikings will play Issaquah Friday as they look to advance to the state quarterfinals for the first time since 2011.

Meredith Teague

Monroe | Volleyball

Teague, a junior, had 11 kills and 12 aces in Thursday’s straight-set win over Jackson in the 4A District 1 championship match. Teague’s 12 aces are a school record, beating the previous record set by teammate Mina Duong earlier in the season. The victory pushed the Bearcats record to 16-0, which is how they will enter this weekend’s state tournament.

Jadyn Edwards

Jackson | Girls Soccer

Edwards, a sophomore, scored the go-ahead goal for Jackson in a 3-1 victory over Kamiak in the 4A District 1 championship game Thursday. The Timberwolves rallied for the win after falling behind 1-0. It’s the second consecutive district championship and third consecutive appearance in the championship game for the Timberwolves, who placed second at the state tournament last season.

Nathan Beamer

Arlington | Boys Cross Country

Beamer, a senior, placed second at the 3A state cross country championships Saturday in Pasco. Beamer finished the race in 15 minutes, 18.80 seconds. Beamer’s finish helped the Eagles finish third as a team behind winner North Central and second place Kamiakin.

Glacier Peak Grizzlies

Girls Cross Country

The Grizzlies won their third state championship in the last four years with a one-point victory over Edmonds-Woodway on Saturday at the 3A state cross country meet in Pasco. The Grizzlies finished with 112 points to the Warriors 113 and had four of the race’s top 36 finishers.

Abby Magee

Marysville Pilchuck | Girls Swimming and Diving

Magee, a junior, won 200 Individual Medley and the 100 butterfly at the 3A district championships Saturday. Magee also participated in the Tomahawks’ victories in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay. The Tomahawks finished fourth overall.
