MARYSVILLE — Cody Blount (1-0) pitched four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit to help his Lakewood nine jump out to a 7-0 lead and ultimately prevail in the Cascade Conference game. Senior left fielder Josh Linscott went 3-for-4 with two clutch RBI to lead the Cougars (2-0 league, 2-0 overall). After Sultan (0-2, 0-2) closed to within one with a four-run sixth, Linscott came up with a clutch, bases-loaded hit in the bottom half of the frame.
