Non-league

Everett 2, Cascade 1 (8)

EVERETT — The Seagulls won a defensive slugfest to move to 5-6 on a walk-off single from Nate Smith. The clutch hit was Smith’s first of the afternoon on three at-bats, as he brought Mac Larsen (1-for-3, one run) home to end the contest in extra innings. Pitcher Owen Brunni earned the win for Everett, allowing three hits to eight Ks in six innings pitched. Steven Wilson’s (1-for-3) double in the sixth inning tied it up for Cascade (2-7), as Logan Crosson scored the Bruins’ lone run.

Wesco 3A/2A South

Shorewood 13, Archbishop Murphy 2 (5)

SHORELINE — A nine-run third inning punctuated the Stormrays’ (8-3 overall, 4-1 league) fourth run-rule win of the season. Jameson Connolly (2-for-2) made the most of his two at-bats, bringing in four runs and hitting a triple while scoring once himself. Connolly was one of five Stormrays to steal a base on a day where Shorewood went 10-for-23. Danny Morgan, Finn Liekkio (two stolen bases), Joe Frye and Calan Sporn each scored twice in the win. Although they only managed two runs, the Wildcats (8-4, 4-3) went 8-for-19 as a team. It was stark defense that doomed them, as Shorewood caught runners stealing twice and had no errors. Cole McCourt (2-for-3) led the way for Archbishop Muprhy with a run and an RBI.

Emerald Sound

University Prep 13, Granite Falls 0

SHORELINE — The Tigers (3-5, 0-5) managed to avoid the run rule in a double-digit loss. Granite Falls’ bats went cold while University Prep managed an 18-for-35 day against three pitchers. Opposing base-running also demoralized the Tigers, as University Prep stole 11 bases as a team. Cole Tappe (1-for-2) doubled in the loss.
