3A District 1 Tournament (First round, loser out)

Meadowdale 3, Oak Harbor 1

OAK HARBOR — The Mavericks (9-12) leaned on their defense and an eight-K, two-hit performance from pitcher Kealoha Kepo’o-Sabate (7 IP) to survive a first-round matchup with the host Wildcats. SHORELINE — The Scots (13-8) got seven scoreless innings out of pitcher David Telling, who allowed just two hits and no walks to four strikeouts. The Scots will face another loser-out situation when they take on Mountlake Terrace on the road Thursday afternoon.
