MONROE — Two seventh-inning runs pushed the Wildcats (1-0) to a win over the reigning Wesco North champion Bearcats (0-1) in a season-opener for both squads. Archbishop Murphy senior Reese Logsdon, who struck out five batters as the starting pitcher, saved his lone hit in three at-bats for the right moment, hitting a triple to bring in the go-ahead run in the seventh. Senior Jameson Crow (1-for-3) would bring Logsdon home on a sacrifice fly to secure an insurance run. Monroe junior pitcher Caleb Campbell retired five Wildcats in three innings while allowing two runs.
