BOYS BASKETBALL

Wesco 3A/2A North

Marysville Getchell 53, Snohomish 50

MARYSVILLE — It was all Bubba Palacol in the first quarter. The senior guard scored all 12 points in the opening frame for the Chargers (11-5 overall, 5-1 league), which trailed the Panthers (5-11, 2-4) 13-12. Through the following two quarters, Snohomish built a 46-37 lead and were on the verge of an upset win, led by junior Luke Davis (13 points). However, after Palacol had carried Marysville Getchell all game en route to a 29-point performance, it was senior Zackary Pittman (8 points) that hit two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and helped the Chargers close out the fourth quarter 16-4 and slip past unscathed.

Everett 60, Stanwood 46

EVERETT — Senior Noah Parker (18 points) led the way for the Seagulls (7-9 overall, 2-4 league), and he was helped out by freshman Noah Owens and senior Alex Tserger (13 points each), who combined for 18 second-half points to keep the Spartans (4-12, 2-4) out of reach. Stanwood seniors Jack Edlund (16 points) and Jett Brager (12 points) each hit four 3-pointers in the loss.

Monroe 79, Marysville Pilchuck 37

MONROE — Junior Wyatt Prohn (20 points) hit six 3-pointers to help the Bearcats (15-2, 7-0) remain undefeated in league play, with assistance from sophomore Isaiah Kiehl (13 points) and junior Chayce Waite-Kellar (12 points). Freshman Michael Smathers Jr. led the Tomahawks (1-16, 1-6) with a game-high 22 points.

Wesco 4A

Lake Stevens 55, Kamiak 35

LAKE STEVENS — After entering the second half leading by one, the Vikings (6-10, 3-4) outscored the Knights (7-10, 2-6) 35-16 in the second half to pull away with a decisive victory. Sophomore Devin Freeman (20 points) led the way, while junior Gabe Allinson (10 points) scored eight points in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Junior Max Christiansen led Kamiak with 12 points.

Jackson 67, Cascade 37

EVERETT — The Timberwolves (9-6, 6-2) led by five points at half, but a major second-half push sparked by seniors Drew Pepin (19 points) and Jackson Rabe (11 points) put the game out of hand. Senior Brandon Lagutang led the Bruins (3-11, 1-7) with 12 points.
