Prep boys basketball: Edmonds-Woodway 71, Mount Vernon 66

EDMONDS — Jason Smarr scored 26 points and Travis Bakken added 18 as Edmonds-Woodway beat Mount Vernon 71-66 Wednesday night to advance to the semifinals of the 4A District 1 Tournament.

Edmonds-Woodway plays Arlington on Saturday at Mountlake Terrace H.S. at 8 p.m. in a winner-to-state game. Mount Vernon hosts Kamiak in a loser-out game.
