Players to watch during the high school boys tennis season:
Ethan Hoglund, sr., Lake Stevens
Hoglund qualified for the Class 4A state doubles tournament last season after claiming the 4A Northwest District tournament doubles title.
David Hyun, sr., Jackson
Hyun is unbeaten in singles play through the Timberwolves’ first three matchups. He made it to the 4A district doubles tournament quarterfinals last season.
Joshua Lee, jr., Kamiak
Lee fell just short of a 4A state tournament berth as a sophomore after making a run to a winner-to-state, second-place matchup at the district tournament. He helped Kamiak finish in a three-way tie for second in Wesco 4A
Will MacDonald, jr., Snohomish
MacDonald made it to the semifinals of the Wesco 3A North tournament last season and qualified for the 3A district tournament/ He helped the Panthers secure a perfect 6-0 mark for the second straight season in Wesco 3A North play.
Grant Mueller, jr., Everett
Mueller earned a spot in the 3A district doubles tournament semifinals after finishing second in the Wesco 3A North doubles tournament last season.
Henry Park, fr., Jackson
Park has established himself as the No. 1 singles player early this season for a traditionally strong Jackson squad as just a freshman. He’s 2-1 through his first three matches, with his only loss coming to two-time state qualifier Dario Ristovski of Glacier Peak.
Dario Ristovski, sr., Glacier Peak
Ristovski qualified for the state tournament for a second straight season his junior year after finishing in second place at the 4A Northwest District singles tournament. The Grizzlies went 13-0 last season with Ristovski leading the way in No. 1 singles.
Ben Silber, sr., Shorecrest
Silber qualified for the 3A state doubles tournament last season after winning the 3A district doubles tournament championship.
Jason Yee, soph., Glacier Peak
Yee made it to the 4A district singles tournament semifinals as a freshman.
Morgan Zill, soph., Stanwood
Zill helped the Spartans finish second in Wesco 3A North last season and made it to the semifinals of the Wesco 3A North doubles tournament.
