Prep football: Archbishop Murphy 50, Sultan 23

EVERETT — Archbishop Murphy shot out to an imposing 36-7 halftime lead and went on to defeat Sultan in a Cascade Conference game that ensures the Wildcats the No. 2 seed in the 2A district playoffs. The Wildcats had 392 yards of total offense, getting 30 carries for 226 yards and five rushing touchdowns, while also going 7-for-16 for 166 yards and two passing TDs. Standout performers for Murphy included Alex Kramer, who had a receiving and a rushing TD, and Liko Tevaga, who had two rushing TDs. The Wildcats finished their regular season with only one loss to Lakewood.
