Marysville Pilchuck 28, Marysville Getchell 6
MARYSVILLE — The Tomahawks maintained their domination in the Berry Bowl as they defeated the crosstown-rival Chargers. The victory improved Pilchuck’s record over Getchell to 12-0.
Pilchuck (2-0 league, 3-0 overall) jumped out to an early 14-0 lead on Luke Shoemaker touchdown passes to Marcus Gaffney and Shane Nelson. Shoemaker then connected with Tristan Utsler in the third quarter to give Pilchuck a 22-point lead after Getchell scored late in the first half to give the Chargers a glimmer of hope.
Andrew Withers scored on a 2-yard run for Getchell (0-2, 1-2).

Arlington 52, Mount Vernon 14
MOUNT VERNON — Arlington scored 38 straight points en route to defeating the Bulldogs.
After the score was tied 7-7 late in the first quarter, Arlington went on a scoring spree that saw the Eagles build a 45-7 lead early in the third quarter.
Arlington improved to 2-0 in league and 3-0 overall, while Mount Vernon dropped to 0-1, 1-2.

Stanwood 56, Oak Harbor 6
STANWOOD — The Spartans bounced back from last week’s rough loss to Marysville Pilchuck in big fashion, blitzing the Wildcats.
Stanwood, a Class 3A state quarterfinalist last year, took one the chin in a 36-7 loss to Pilchuck in its Wesco 3A North opener last week. But the Spartans wasted little time getting back on the winning track, grabbing a 21-0 lead less than six minutes into the game.
Canyon Bumgarner and Cruise Swanson each scored two touchdowns for Stanwood (1-1 league, 2-1 overall), which led 49-0 at halftime. Bumgarner returned the game’s opening kickoff for a score and also returned a fumble for a TD, while Swanson scored two rushing touchdowns.
Oak Harbor fell to 0-1, 0-3.

WESCO 3A SOUTH
Mountlake Terrace 35, Shorewood 0
SHORELINE — Zaveon Jones ran wild as he led the Hawks to the dominating victory over the Stormrays.
Jones rushed for 265 yards on just 18 carries and scored four touchdowns. Three of those scores came in the first half, with each of them going for 35 yards or more.
Rayshaun Connor added an interception return for a touchdown for Mountlake Terrace (2-0 league, 3-0 overall), which is 3-0 to start the season for the first time since 2015.
Shorewood saw it’s good start to the season blunted as the Stormrays dropped to 1-1, 2-1. Reid Petschi led Shorewood with 83 yards on 24 carries.

Shorecrest 12, Snohomish 6
SNOHOMISH — The Scots gave up a touchdown on the game’s opening kickoff, but allowed nothing after that in the victory over the Panthers.
Shorecrest wasn’t able to get anything going offensively itself through three quarters, but the Scots’ defense kept them in the game. Then Kevin Vo’s 1-yard TD run, a safety on a Snohomish snap that went over the punter’s head, and a 25-yard field goal by Gus Hamilton turned the game Shorecrest’s way. Ben Chesnut iced it for the Scots with two interceptions in the game’s final four minutes.
Vo finished with 82 yards on 23 carries, while Shorecrest (1-1 league, 1-2 overall) held Snohomish to just 104 yards offense.
Parker Jackson’s 94-yard kickoff return was the highlight for Snohomish (0-2, 0-3).

Edmonds-Woodway 46, Lynnwood 0
EDMONDS — The Warriors raced out to a 40-0 halftime lead in the victory over the Royals.
Steven Warren Jr. threw four touchdown passes in the first half for Edmonds-Woodway, two each to Jesse Hart III and Diego Escandon. Meanwhile, Rashaad Gerona-Chatters rushed for two first-half TDs for the Warriors. Warren completed all six of his throws for 158 yards, and Gerona Chatters paced the ground game with 72 yards.
Edmonds-Woodway improved to 1-0 in league and 2-1 overall, Lynnwood dropped to 0-2, 0-3.

NON-LEAGUE
Meadowdale 27, Mariner 8
EDMONDS — The Mavericks pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Marauders 13-0 after halftime.
Nolan Swanson returned an interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter for Meadowdale, and Luis Partida del Rosario, Ethan Gibeault and Cameron Platt each ran for scores.
Meadowdale improved to 3-0, Mariner dropped to 0-3.

Everett 17, Jackson 14
EVERETT — Mauricio Garcia-Luna’s fourth-quarter field goal snapped a 14-14 tie to give the Seagulls the victory over the Timberwolves in the Everett School District rivalry game.
Michael Noland ran for one touchdown and threw a TD pass to Ian Hendry to lead Everett (2-1). Hendry’s TD, which was followed by a two-point conversion, tied it at 14-14 in the third quarter.
Jackson fell to o-3.

Darrington 50, Lummi 20
DARRINGTON — The Loggers continued their winning ways with the victory over the Blackhawks in an eight-man game.
Darrington (3-0) dominated from the outset, scoring all its points in the first half as the Loggers took a 50-0 lead. Hunter Anderson was 4-for-6 passing with all four completions going for touchdowns, three of which were caught by Cooper Green. Chevy Vincent added three interceptions for Darrington, returning one of those for a touchdown.
Lummi dropped to 1-1.

Ferndale 22, Glacier Peak 16
FERNDALE — The Grizzlies played from behind the entire game, and although they came close to pulling off the comeback, they came up just short against the Golden Eagles.
After falling behind 14-0 in the second quarter, Glacier Peak pulled within one at 14-13 early in the third. Then after Ferndale appeared to have it wrapped up late, the Grizzlies recovered a fumbled snap at midfield and drove into scoring position, only for the Golden Eagles’ Aydin O’Tool to come up with the game-clinching strip.
Lucas Entler completed long touchdown passes Adama Loum and Benjamin Williams for Glacier Peak (1-2).
Talan Bungard ran for two touchdowns to lead Ferndale (3-0).

Monroe 53, Kamiak 0
MONROE — Blake Springer threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns as the Bearcats stayed perfect with the victory over the Knights.
Springer connected on all three of this TD passes in the second quarter as Monroe (3-0), following a scoreless first quarter, took a 20-0 halftime lead to break the game open. Mason Davis, Aaron Clifton and Matthew Rodriguez hauled in TD receptions.
Brennan Sheppard’s interception return for a touchdown early in the third quarter ended any thoughts of a Kamiak comeback. Nick Mouser ran for two TDs, Gavin Ranz ran for another and Myron Robinson Jr. tacked on a 92-yard rushing score in the second half. Monroe outgained Kamiak 433-132.
Kamiak fell to 0-3.

Cedarcrest 40, Cedar Park Christian (Bothell) 7
DUVALL — JT Marsh scored three touchdowns and Avery Kleppen ran for two in the second half of the Red Wolves’ non-league win over the Eagles.
Marsh scored on a 49-yard punt return and 66-yard reception from Connor Altmeyer in the first half, and Kleppen scored on runs of 56 and 22 yards. Marsh had 274 all-purpose yards, Kleppen 143 rushing yards and Altmeyer 228 passing yards. Cedarcrest added a safety on defense and Reid Fiala and Reuben Mallory added interceptions. Rodrigo Pena-Preciado made a 40-yard field goal.
Cedarcrest improved to 2-1 with the victory, while Cedar Park Christian dropped to 1-2.

Sultan 46, Coupeville 13
SULTAN — Derek Feltner rushed for 289 yards on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Turks over the Wolves.
Feltner scored on runs of 87 and 34 yards in the first quarter, the second of which gave Sultan the lead for good at 14-13. He later added a 66-yard score in the third quarter as the Turks pulled away.
Kaden Koehler was 7-for-10 passing for 88 yards and two touchdowns for Sultan (3-0), with his connections to Hayden Murphy and Brek Bush helping the Turks push their lead to 26-13.
Coupeville fell to 0-3.

Granite Falls 32, Bellingham 27
The Tigers staged a third-quarter comeback to defeat the Bayhawks.
Granite Falls trailed 14-0 after one quarter and 21-12 at halftime. However, the Tigers scored three touchdowns in a three-minute span late in the third quarter to surge to a 32-21 lead. Bellingham scored in the final minute to make the final score close.
Kaden LaPlaunt threw three touchdown passes, two to Johnathan Roberts and one to Bradley Kehoe, to lead Granite Falls (2-1), which also got a rushing touchdown from Spencer Shilling and a pick-six from Beau Everson. LaPlaunt had 218 yards passing and Kehoe a team-high 92 receiving yards.
Bellingham dropped to 0-3.

King’s 28, Nooksack Valley 26
SHORELINE — In a battle between 1A schools with state championship aspirations, the Knights took the lead on a fourth-quarter field goal by Matthew Williams, then rode their defense in the back-and-fourth victory over the Pioneers.
Noah Clark threw three touchdown passes, including two to Cole Adams, and also scampered for a score to lead King’s (3-0). Then after Joey Brown’s touchdown run late in the third gave Nooksack a 26-25 lead, the Knights drove close enough for Williams to connect from 23 yards with what proved to be the game-winning field goal.
Nooksack fell to 2-1.

Anacortes 45, Archbishop Murphy 0
ANACORTES — The Wildcats had a rough night out against the Seahawks. Archbishop Murphy dropped to 0-1 in league and 1-2 overall, Anacortes improved to 1-0, 3-0.

BURLINGTON — The Cougars dropped a squeaker against the Tigers in the league opener for both teams. Lakewood is 0-1 in league and 1-2 overall, Burlington-Edison is 1-0, 1-2.

SATURDAY’S GAMES
Lake Stevens 63, Federal Way 13
AUBURN — Kolton Matson and Jayshon Limar each accounted for four touchdowns apiece as the Vikings routed the Eagles in a non-league game.
Matson scored two rushing TD and connected with Limar for a 24-yard score in the first quarter. Limar added rushing scores of 4, 8 and 26 yards, while Matson found Paul Varela for a 9-yard score in the third quarter. Steven Lee Jr. added a kickoff return TD and Dezmund Weese a rushing score for Lake Stevens, which improved to 3-0.
Federal Way fell to 0-3.
