First round

Sultan 64, Bush 14

SULTAN — Toby Trichler scored 17 of his game-high 21 points in the first half and seventh-seeded Sultan ran away early in a dominant victory over 11th-seeded Bush in the first round of the 1A District 2 Tournament.

Eli Trichler added 12 points and Tristan Lopez, Westin Galle and Tommy Spikes chipped in six apiece for the Turks (17-2). Sultan, which led 43-8 halftime, advances to the quarterfinals and visits third-seeded Seattle Academy on Wednesday.

Bush (7-10) falls to a loser-out consolation bracket game Friday.

MILL CREEK — Ty Hale made seven 3-pointers and led four Jackson players in double figures with 21 points as the Timberwolves cruised past the Bruins in non-league play.

Mason Johanson scored 18 points, Sylas Williams and Harris Kampe had 16 apiece and Ryan Mcferran chipped in nine for Jackson (16-3), which connected on 14 3-pointers as a team.

Devin Gilbert netted a game-high 25 points, Aidan Kopra added nine and Nate Lagutang chipped in seven for Cascade (5-15).

Quarterfinals

Darrington 50, Grace Academy 19

MARYSVILLE — Claire Wright recorded a double-double with 14 points and 15 steals as the Loggers rode a dominant second half to win over the Eagles in the 1B District 1 Tournament quarterfinals.

Dena Beazer and Allie Cochran scored 14 points apiece and Kenadie Hoglund added eight steals for Darrington (11-7). The Loggers outscored Grace Academy 31-1 in the second half after leading 19-18 at the break. Darrington advances to face Mount Vernon Christian in the district semifinals Tuesday. The Loggers also clinched a spot in the upcoming tri-district tournament.

Candice Mugo-Wainaina had seven points to lead the Eagles (8-6). Grace Academy falls to a loser-out consolation game against Concrete on Tuesday.
