BASEBALL

Wesco 4A

Lake Stevens 9, Kamiak 3

LAKE STEVENS — Aspen Alexander went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Cole Becker finished 3-for-3 with two RBI as Lake Stevens kept pace atop the league standings with Jackson with a win over Kamiak.

Seth Mahler and Colin Beazizo both went 1-for-3 with two RBI, and Kaiden Sekely tossed three innings of shutout ball on the mound for Lake Stevens (13-4, 6-0 Wesco 4A).

Jackson and Lake Stevens are set for a three-game series on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday next week.

Kamiak fell to 4-12 overall and 0-6 in league play.

Jackson 9, Glacier Peak 3

MILL CREEK — Braden O’Donnell went 2-for-4 with an RBI, three stolen bases and two runs scored as Jackson beat Glacier Peak and stayed tied at the top of the league standings with Lake Stevens.

Micah Coleman went 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Matt Dickert finished 2-for-4 with two RBI for Jackson (15-1, 6-0 Wesco 4A).

Jackson and Lake Stevens are set for a three-game series on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday next week.

Glacier Peak fell to 6-12 overall and 0-6 in league play.

Wesco 3A/2A North

Snohomish 10, Archbishop Murphy 0 (5)

SNOHOMISH — Easton Leonard went 2-for-4 with three RBI and ended the game with a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning as Snohomish rolled to a league win over Archbishop Murphy.

Nicolas Sakamoto went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, Austin Baalman added two hits and an RBI, and Van Berman struck out six and allowed no runs in five innings on the mound for Snohomish (13-4, 10-1 Wesco 3A/2A North).

Tim Thomas went 2-for-3 and Max Rodabaugh added a double for Archbishop Murphy (8-10, 5-6).

Wesco 3A/2A South

Meadowdale 4, Lynnwood 0

LYNNWOOD — Nic Zardis struck out six and allowed just three hits in a shutout on the mound as Meadowdale blanked Lynnwood in a league game.

Jayden Costa went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI, Nolan Webster went 1-for-2 with an RBI and Jacob Armstrong-George finished 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored for Meadowdale (11-8, 7-5 Wesco 3A/2A South).

Jace Hampson went 2-for-3 with a double and Hunter Penrose added a base hit for Lynnwood (6-12, 5-7).

Mountlake Terrace 3, Shorewood 1

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Dayton Nickolson allowed just one run and struck out three in a complete game on the mound, and Talan Zenk hit a solo home run and scored twice to help lift Mountlake Terrace to a league win over Shorewood.

Bede Bresee finished 1-for-3 with an RBI for Mountlake Terrace (9-9, 6-6 Wesco 3A/2A South).

Shorewood fell to 12-6 overall and 9-3 in league play.

Edmonds-Woodway 2, Cascade 0

EDMONDS — Drew Warner pitched a shutout and allowed just three hits as Edmonds-Woodway edged Cascade in a tight league game.

Warner struck out one, walked two and also went 2-for-2 at the plate, Kohl Gruender drove in a run and Grant Oliver added a double for Edmonds-Woodway (14-5, 11-1 Wesco 3A/2A South).

Connor Shurts went 2-for-3 and Manny Molina allowed just two runs, one earned, on four hits and struck out four in a complete game for Cascade (2-15, 1-11).

SHORELINE — Lillian Perreault hit a walk-off, two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead Shorewood past Stanwood in a league thriller.

Perreault finished the game 2-for-3, Riley Wheaton went 1-for-3 with a double and Ellie Van Horn struck out 10 in a complete game in the circle for Shorewood (8-5, 5-4 Wesco 3A/2A).

Madi Rel went 2-for-3, and Karsen Bilow and Jessie McLain both went 1-for-3 with a double for Stanwood (6-8, 4-5).

Mountlake Terrace 10, Arlington 5

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Cameron Dunn went 4-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBI to power Mountlake Terrace past Arlington in a league game.

Amaya Johnson went 3-for-3 with three doubles and an RBI, and Kyleigh Smith and Delia Glover both went 3-for-4 for Mountlake Terrace (8-4, 6-2 Wesco 3A/2A).

Tayler Stevens went 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI, and Emmaly Morris went 3-for-4 with a home run for Arlington (7-7, 4-5).

Edmonds-Woodway 14, Marysville Getchell 10

MARYSVILLE — Hazel Mills went 4-for-5 and Edmonds-Woodway pounded out 16 hits, all singles, in a league win over Marysville Getchell.

Ella Campbell also went 4-for-5 for Edmonds-Woodway (8-4, 4-4 Wesco 3A/2A).

Teagan Carroll went 2-for-4 with a home run, Lilyana Balgos went 4-for-5 and Emme Witter finished 2-for-4 with a triple for Marysville Getchell (6-6, 4-4).

Everett vs. Cascade 12, Everett 2 (5)

EVERETT — A fourth inning avalanche was all the Cascade High School softball team needed as they blazed past league rival Everett.

The Bruins notched eight hits in the fourth and went 12-for-27 at the plate overall, recovering from an early 2-1 deficit to beat the Seagulls 12-2 in five innings in a Wesco 3A/2A showdown Friday at the Phil Johnson Ballfields.

In the initial stages, Everett (7-7, 5-5 Wesco 4A) capitalized on an error at first base in the top of the third, which scored senior Ruby Wacker to provide the Seagulls with an early edge.

After the miscue it was all Cascade (10-4, 8-1), as the Bruins minimized the damage the rest of the inning and took off running.

Lakewood 7, Mount Baker 6 (9, international tiebreaker)

LAKEWOOD — Mika Goodwin had two clutch hits, a game-tying RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning and a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth, as Lakewood rallied for a thrilling league win over Mount Baker.

Trailing by three entering the bottom of the seventh, Avalon Kummer led off with a triple, and consecutive RBI singles from Emma Joy Wise, Katie Krueger and Goodwin tied the game at 6-6. After a scoreless eighth and top of the ninth, Goodwin came through with the winning hit in the bottom of the ninth for the Cougars.

Goodwin and Kummer both finished 3-for-5, Wise and Nikki Blodgett both had two hits, and Krueger struck out 14 batters for Lakewood (4-7, 4-4 Northwest).

Annalee Cohn went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs scored for Mount Baker (9-4, 6-2).

EVERETT — Archie Dhima, Anthony Gonzalez-Marroquin and Christian Timoteo all scored as Jackson topped Mariner in a league match.

Gonzalez-Marroquin, Ander Lizaso Lacabe and Vitaly Nagornyy all had assists, and Ben Ferguson turned in a strong performance in goal for Jackson (9-6-0, 5-1-0 Wesco 4A).

Mariner fell to 1-9-1 overall and 1-5-0 in league.

Kamiak 2, Glacier Peak 2

Snohomish — Liam Smith and Azavier Cooper scored for Glacier Peak and the Grizzlies earned a draw with Kamiak in a league match.

Glacier Peak moved to 6-3-2 overall and 4-1-1 in Wesco 4A.

Kamiak moved to 3-8-1 overall and 2-2-1 in league.

Wesco 3A/2A

Shorewood 1, Edmonds-Woodway 1

EDMONDS — Friday night’s boys soccer game between the Shorewood Stingrays and Edmonds-Woodway Warriors was the Wesco 3A/2A heavyweight championship bout. Two weeks left in the regular season, two teams with perfect records, one belt at stake.

But after a 15-round knockdown drag-out, first place will have to be determined another day.

Shorewood and Edmonds-Woodway stood toe-to-toe for 90 minutes, and when the final bell sounded it ended in stalemate as the teams tied 1-1.
