Kaylin Beckman, Snohomish girls basketball
Beckman, a junior forward, scored a team-high 16 points as the Panthers fought off a Stanwood comeback attempt in a much-needed 62-53 Wesco 3A/2A win. Thirteen of Beckman’s points came in the second half.
Katelynn Gundersen, Sultan girls basketball
Gundersen, a junior guard, scored off an assist from Grace Trichler in the waning seconds to give the Turks a 42-40 non-conference win over Lakewood. Gundersen scored 15 points in the game to lead Sultan.
Devin Leach, Shorewood boys wrestling
Leach, a senior, beat Meadowdale’s Thaddeus Gonzalez 3-2 at 152 pounds as the Thunderbirds beat the Mavericks 42-27 in a Wesco 3A/2A South dual. Leach is ranked eighth in the state at 3A by Washington Wrestling Report, and Gonzalez is ranked ninth.
Amanda Wininger, Jackson girls bowling
Wininger, a junior, rolled a 309 series (150-159) to help Jackson sweep Cascade in the final conference match of the season. The two teams atop the Wesco standings split their conference meetings.
