Prep stars of the night for Wednesday, Dec. 4

PREP STARS OF THE NIGHT FOR WEDNESDAY, DEC. 4:

Shae Dixon and Alex Jensen, Lakewood boys basketball

Dixon, a junior, and Jensen, a senior, each made four 3-pointers, and accounted for eight of the Cougars’ 15 triples in an 82-76 win over Stanwood in the season opener for both teams. Dixon finished with 23 points and Jensen added 20 for Lakewood.

Hannah Hvitved, Monroe girls basketball

Hvitved, a senior, scored with one second remaining in regulation to help the Bearcats force overtime in their season opener at Redmond. Monroe went on to lose 43-38 in the extra period, but Hvitved recorded a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds.
