MOUNT VERNON — Darrington finished second after a 3-0 loss to La Conner in the championship game. Brandy Hadaway led Darrington with six kills and 14 digs. La Conner won the sets 25-16, 25-22 and 25-13. Darrington beat Orcas Island 3-0 with set scores of 25-13, 25-11 and 25-19 in it’s first match in the semifinals. Jessica Brooks totaled 10 kills and four blocks and Jill Goldman added 22 digs. Darrington will be the District 1 No. 2 seed in next weekend’s Bi-District Tournament at Stanwood H.S.
