The top professional wakeboarders from throughout the globe are set to make a splash in Monroe on Friday and Saturday.
The water-sports action will take place on Lake Tye, where the sport’s top pros will compete for points toward the season standings for the coveted Pro Tour title. The stop is the fourth of the 2011 MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour.
Throughout the two-day event, wakeboarders will compete in a series of elimination rounds by performing rail tricks and aerial stunts. Tricks are scored by a panel of judges, with only the top-scoring athletes advancing in each round until a winner is determined in the finals on Saturday.
The event is free to the public on Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the preliminary rounds for the Pro Men, Pro Women’s and the amateur Jr. Pro Men’s divisions. The event will wrap up on Saturday, with the ticketed event starting at 10:30 a.m. and wrapping up at 8 p.m.
Tickets are available at the gate: $13 (adult); $5 (ages 6-12); free (ages 5 and under); or $7 (adult) if purchased online.
