Prospect update

OK, the prestigous Mac’s Midget Tournament is complete, so I figured it was a good time for another prospect update, specifically about those Everett prospects who played in the tournament. For those who don’t know, the Mac’s Tournament is the biggest and best midget hockey tournament in western Canada, and every team in the WHL has several list players participate in the tournament. Everett had nine list players on teams that attended the tournament, though only eight played — 1992-born forward Campbell Elynuik of the Calgary Royals is currently out with what I believe is a broken leg. Anyway, I waded throught he box scores and here’s how the players fared (players listed with position and birth year):

– Mike Berry, D, 93: Had two goals for an Edmonton CAC Canadians team that finished 1-3. Was named his team’s star of the game once.

– Mitch Boucher, D, 92: Had one assist for a Moose Jaw Warriors team that finished 1-3.

– Manraj Hayer, F, 93: Had one goal and four assists for Vancouver Canadians team that finished 1-2-1. Was named his team’s star once.

– D.Jay McGrath, F, 92: Had four assists for a Saskatoon Contacts team that finished 2-2.

– Brett Mulcahy, F, 93: Had two goals for an Okanagan Rockets team that finished 1-2-1.

– Ryan Murray, D, 93: Had two assists for a Moose Jaw Warriors team that finished 1-3. Was named his team’s star twice.

– Dylan Smith, F, 92: Had three goals and one assist for a Beardy’s Blackhawks team that finished 1-2-1. Was named his team’s star once.

– Josh Winquist, F, 93: Had two goals and two assists for a St. Albert Raiders team that finished 3-2 and was eliminated in the quarterfinals. Was named his team’s star twice.

I was told Hayer and Murray were selected to play in the all-star game, but the tournament Web site doesn’t list the rosters for the all-star game, so take that information for what you will.
