PULLMAN — University of Alabama Birmingham head coach Mike Davis reportedly has been interviewed for the vacant job at Washington State.
According to The Spokesman-Review newspaper of Spokane, Washington State athletic director Jim Sterk conducted the interview during the Final Four tournament in Detroit.
Sterk reported returned home from Detroit on Saturday.
The Cougars are looking for a replacement for Tony Bennett, who left to become coach at Virginia less than a week ago. Others believed to be under consideration include Portland State coach Ken Bone and former Phoenix Suns coach Terry Porter.
