UPDATE: Williams has indeed signed. TE Dominique Byrd was released to make room on the roster.
With fullback Michael Robinson out with an ankle injury, the Seahawks are no doubt looking at their options today seeing as Robinson was their only fullback. Eddie Williams, who is currently on Cleveland’s practice squad, has worked out and taken a physical, per a source, and is likely to sign today. The deal is not finished, however, so there’s no guarantee Williams ends up here. ESPN’s John Clayton first reported Seattle’s interest in Williams.
Williams, who played tight end at Idaho, was seventh-round pick in 2009. He has spent time in Washington, Chicago, and now Cleveland. Williams, who is listed at 6-foot-1, 242 pounds, spent part of his rookie season on Washington’s active roster, but has spent most of his first two years on practice squads.
