Seedings revealed for state high school basketball tournaments

Four local teams have already secured spots at their respective Hardwood Classics.

The matchups for high school basketball state regionals were announced by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association on Sunday.

Teams were seeded by committees.

The top eight seeds in each classification clinched berths to their respective Hardwood Classics and will be playing to advance straight in the state quarterfinals Thursday, March 2. The remaining seeds in each classification will play in loser-out contests with winners advancing to Hardwood Classic first-round matchups Wednesday, March 1.

The state tournament features 16-team brackets in Classes 4A, 2A, 1A and 2B. Regional matchups are held Friday and Saturday.

The 3A and 1B tournaments feature 20 teams. Seeds 13 through 20 square off in play-in games early in the week to advance to Friday or Saturday games.
