Shorecrest nails down the top 3A spot in the Wesco South

SHORELINE – The Shorecrest volleyball team got off to a fast start Thursday en route to a 3-0 victory over Lynnwood in a Wesco South 3A showdown.

The Scots (8-1 league, 13-1 overall), who earned the Wesco South No. 1 seed for the 3A crossover tournament, rolled past Lynnwood with a 25-8 first-set victory. Shorecrest finished the sweep, winning 25-22 and 25-19.

“This was a good win for us,” Shorecrest coach Dave Morehouse said. “We got off to a quick start and played pretty consistently the rest of the way.”

Shorecrest hosts the Cascade Conference’s No. 2 seed South Whidbey in the loser-out crossover meet on Monday and the Royals, the Wesco South No. 2 seed travels to the Cascade Conference’s No. 1 seed Cedarcrest.
