Shorewood bags its fifth straight Wesco South title

SHORELINE – Shorewood registered 1-2 finishes in two events en route to a 96-90 victory over Kamiak in the Wesco South championship dual meet Tuesday at Shoreline Pool.

The Thunderbirds have won or shared five straight Wesco South titles.

Shorewood was first and second in the 50-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly, outscoring the Knights 11-5 in both events.

Shorewood’s Tim Tan won the 100 butterfly and was also first in the 200 individual medley.

Max Vincent won the 50 free style and was second to Kamiak’s Lucas Lusier, who also won the 200 freestyle, in the 100 freestyle.

Jackson 133, Mountlake Terrace 30: At Lynnwood, Robbie Burns and Jimmy Rogers each won two individual events and swam on two winning relay teams to lead Jackson to the Wesco South victory. Mountlake Terrace’s Jared Cooke won the 100-yard freestyle event.

Jackson 98, Edmonds-Woodway 72: At Lynnwood, Edmonds-Woodway’s Sean Maden won the 50-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly events and swam on the winning 200 medley relay team, but Jackson edged the Warriors in the Wesco South meet.
