VANCOUVER, British Columbia — The Everett Silvertips rallied from an early two-goal deficit and beat the Vancouver Giants 3-2 on Friday night for their fifth win in a row.
After the Giants jumped in front with goals from Dylan Plouffe and Cole Shepard in the first period, Martin Fasko-Rudas, playing in his first game this season, pulled the Silvertips to within one with a goal at 19:21 in the frame.
Then Everett’s special teams went to work. Wyatte Wylie and Jackson Berezowski each scored a power-play goal in the second period as the Silvertips vaulted to a 3-2 lead and held on for the victory.
Dustin Wolf stopped 34 of 36 shots for the first-place Silvertips (9-3-0-0).
David Tendeck stopped 19 of 22 shots for the Giants (7-8-0-0).
Note
Cole Fonstad was injured in practice on Wednesday and did not play in the game, according to Silvertips general manager Garry Davidson. Fonstad is day-to-day with the unspecified injury.
Fonstad was acquired by the Silvertips on Oct. 13 in a trade with the Prince Albert Raiders.
