PRINCE GEORGE -Everett goalkeeper Mike Wall made 26 saves against his former team while helping the Silvertips defeat Prince George, 3-0 Saturday on the road.

The Silvertips (23-17-7-1), who’ve won four straight and two against the Cougars in as many nights, grabbed a piece of first place with idle Tri-City in the Western Hockey League’s U.S. Division with 54 points.

It was Wall’s second straight victory over the Cougars and his second shutout since being traded back in September.

Barry Horman scored his 12th goal of the season with 10:54 remaining in the second period to give the Silvertips all they’d need. It was Horman’s fourth consecutive game with at a point.

The Silvertips increased their lead to 2-0 6:47 into the third period on Marc Desloes’ eighth marker of the season. Jeff Schmidt, whose shot ricocheted off a Cougar player and slid past the Prince George netminder, gave Everett a 3-0 lead with three and a half minutes remaining in regulation.
