The Everett Silvertips trimmed their preseason roster Wednesday, reassigning eight players.
Seven of the eight players were participants in last week’s rookie camp. They included 1991-born forwards Paul Grenier, Brett Chartier and Kevin Spotts; 1991-born defenseman Ryan Maul; 1992-born forwards D.Jay McGrath and Justin Waskewitch; and 1992-born defenseman Gabriel Minville. The only non-rookie camp participant on the list was 1989-born defenseman Lewis Laczko, who was an invitee to main camp.
The cuts leave Everett’s roster at 37 for this weekend’s Everett Silvertips Preseason Tournament. That total does not include Peter Mueller, who is resting a groin injury in preparation of camp with the NHL’s Phoenix coyotes, or Zach Hamill and Leland Irving, who are in Russia for the Canada-Russia Super Series.
