Silvertips top Giants to clinch another postseason berth

Everett wins 3-1 and has secured a postseason bid in every season if its existence minus the two COVID years with no playoffs.

VANCOUVER, B.C. — Once again, the Everett Silvertips are headed to the playoffs.

Jesse Heslop scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period, Aidan Sutter added an empty-netter and Everett beat Vancouver 3-1 to clinch a postseason berth.

Caden Zaplinty scored a goal in the first period for the Silvertips before Ty Thorpe answered with a goal in the second for the Giants to make it 1-1.

Tyler Palmer had 22 saves for Everett (28-24-2-1), which has reached the playoffs every season since its inception in 2003-04, minus the COVID seasons in 2019-20 and 2020-21 with no postseason.

Brett Mirwald made 36 saves for Vancouver (21-27-5-2).
