EVERETT – The Everett Silvertips set a new franchise record for longest winning streak, winning their 14th straight game in defeating the Kamloops Blazers 2-1 Saturday night in WHL action.
Shane Harper and Chris Langkow scored for Everett (33-16-2-1), which surpassed the 13-game winning streak achieved during the 2006-07 season. For Harper it was his sixth straight game with a goal, matching a team record.
Thomas Heemskerk earned the win in goal for Everett with 19 saves.
Brendan Ranford scored for Kamloops (24-24-2-4). Goaltender Jon Groenheyde kept the Blazers in the game, making 33 saves.
